Menaka Tennekoon

Menaka Tennekoon is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in international law and humanitarian work. Currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies since November 2016, Menaka has held various legal roles within the organization since June 2006, including Senior Legal Officer and Regional Legal Officer for Tsunami Projects. Prior to joining IFRC, Menaka worked as a Lawyer for an independent practice from July 2013 to April 2016. Menaka holds a Master’s Degree in International Legal Studies from New York University School of Law, completed in 2015, and a legal education from Sri Lanka Law College, where studies were undertaken from 2000 to 2003.
