Paulo Bastos

Paulo Bastos is a Senior Economist at The World Bank since June 2012, previously serving as an Economist in the same institution. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Economist at the Inter-American Development Bank from January 2009 to May 2012, and as an Economist for the European Commission from November 2007 to December 2008. Paulo's academic background encompasses a PhD in Economics from Nottingham University earned between 2003 and 2007, a Master's degree in Economics from Universidade do Minho from 2001 to 2003, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidade do Porto obtained from 1995 to 2000. Additionally, Paulo held the position of GEP/ESRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham for the duration of 2007.
