Sophia Marques

Sophia Marques is currently serving as the Science & Technology Coordinator at the International Fresh Produce Association, where responsibilities include formulating grant proposals and managing research projects focused on food safety and sustainable agriculture. Prior roles include work as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, conducting assessments of soil quality on urban farms, and as a Tern Restoration Intern with the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game, monitoring rare tern populations. Sophia also gained experience as a Horticultural Intern at the University of Maryland Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Sophia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Technology from the University of Maryland, completed in December 2022.
