Tamara Muruetagoiena

Vice President Of Sustainability at International Fresh Produce Association

Tamara Muruetagoiena has a diverse background in sustainability and environmental management. Tamara most recently served as the Vice President of Sustainability at the International Fresh Produce Association, where they developed and implemented global sustainability strategies and led climate-smart agriculture pilot projects. Prior to this role, they were the Director of Sustainability at the same organization.

Before joining the International Fresh Produce Association, Tamara worked as the Executive Director of Great Mountain Forest Inc, where they led the organization's strategic plan for sustainable forest management and oversaw staff, operations, and programs. Tamara also held positions at Driscoll's as a Senior Global Manager of Sustainability and R&D, and as a Senior Sustainability Manager, where they set sustainability standards, managed global data reporting, and drove the company's sustainability efforts.

Earlier in their career, Tamara served as an Environmental Program Manager at Columbia University, managing projects in marine conservation and sustainable fisheries. Tamara also worked as a Sustainable Forestry Consultant at USSE and as an Environmental Consultant at Ihobe, Sociedad Pública de Gestión Ambiental.

Tamara's academic experience includes conducting environmental science research at Yale University and Columbia University. At Yale, they managed research sites and taught graduate courses in forest ecology. Lastly, they worked as a Policy Adviser at the European Parliament, analyzing policies related to environmental, agricultural, and fishery issues and drafting legislation.

Tamara Muruetagoiena holds a Master's Degree in Forest Science from Yale University, which they completed from 2005 to 2008. In 2004, they attended Columbia University to study Ecology and Conservation. Tamara also obtained an International Marketing Diploma from the University of California, Berkeley in 1998 and 1999. Prior to that, they pursued a joint MBA degree with U.C. Berkeley from ESEUNE Business School in Spain from 1997 to 1999. Tamara's education journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Washington State University, which they achieved from 1993 to 1997.
