Lyubomir Filipov

Lyubomir Filipov is a seasoned GIS Consultant currently leading the design and implementation of a global enterprise GIS system for the International Fund for Agricultural Development, benefiting over 120 countries. With extensive experience as a GIS Manager and consultant at GAP Consult Ltd., Filipov manages various GIS and IT projects, including the development of a standardized GIS database for multiple Eastern European countries. Previous roles include short-term GIS consultancy for The World Bank, where data processing and spatial analysis informed climate adaptation strategies for Bulgaria, and scientific support to the European Commission on the Danube Strategy. Education includes an M.Sc. in Geographic Information Systems and Cartography and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohdiski.”
