Mawira Chitima

Mawira Chitima serves as the Country Director at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) since 2015, where responsibilities include supporting the regional director with decision-making and managing a data analytics project for the Ministry of Agriculture. Previously, Mawira held the role of Lead Technical Specialist in Water and Rural Infrastructure, managing a substantial global infrastructure portfolio. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Adviser at the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Development Facility, specializing in financing strategies for smallholder irrigation, and working as an Agricultural Investment Planning Specialist and Project Manager in various organizations. Mawira holds advanced degrees in Agricultural Engineering and Development Finance, along with a certificate in Business Analytics from Harvard Business School Online.
