International Hotel School
International hotel School was established in the Carlton Hotel, Johannesburg in 1994, to meet the shortage of trained individuals for a service driven industry. It now offers a range of nationally and internationally recognised diplomas and certificates across all sectors of the hospitality industry. It has grown to three campuses: Johannesburg (Gauteng), Durban (KZN) and Cape Town (Western Cape), as well as a national Traineeship programme and an Online Campus. Over 1300 students graduate annually. After receiving superior practical training (at least 50% of programme) they are job ready and highly marketable. Many graduated students have worked at well-known hospitality establishments such as Disney, Seaborne Cruise Liners, Ritz Carlton Hotels worldwide, to name a few. In January 2014 the International Hotel School Online division was formalised, the platform originally started to support the industry based traineeship students. Due to popular demand the offering was extended to all distance learning students and now functions as an International Online offering. With service being more important than ever in a tough, tight and competitive hospitality industry, in 2013 International Hotel School Training Division was developed. The school already being accredited and recognised through memberships with a number of bodies, both educational and professional, were able to offer customised internal training to large hospitality groups. International Hotel School Training offers a combination of relevant certifications and training that equip individuals with the skills and knowledge they require to be successful hospitality industry professionals. As the largest hospitality training provider of its kind, with its high academic and practical training and the quality of the graduates, International Hotel School has earned it’s title as Africa’s Leading Hotel School.
