Nigel Gould-Davies is an accomplished academic and policy expert with extensive experience in international relations and strategic analysis. Currently serving as Editor of the Strategic Survey and Senior Fellow for Russia and Eurasia at the International Institute for Strategic Studies since March 2020, Nigel has previously held notable positions including Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center, Associate Fellow at Chatham House, and Lecturer in International Relations at Mahidol University. Nigel's corporate experience includes leading political risk assessments and government relations for BG Group, where significant achievements included the award of offshore license blocks in Myanmar and recognition for excellence in strategic partnerships in Kazakhstan. A former ambassador to Belarus and project director at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Nigel has deep expertise in diplomatic engagement and policy formulation, supported by a robust academic background with a Ph.D. from Harvard University and degrees from the University of Oxford.
