Alexander Mertens is a distinguished academic and financial expert with extensive experience in teaching and leadership roles. Currently serving as a Professor of Finance at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy since 2010, Alexander has also held the position of Professor of Economics and Finance at the International Institute of Business since 1997, where significant contributions include the development of MBA programs and executive seminars. As President and CEO, Alexander led IIB to achieve unique accreditation and high international rankings while overseeing a substantial expansion. Additional leadership includes serving as Director at the International Institute of Modern Technologies and various consultancy roles with organizations such as USAID and the International Finance Corporation. Alexander employs a robust academic foundation, holding a Cand.Sc. (PhD) in Economics and Mathematics from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
