Hassan Hersi

Preferred Communities Case Manager at International Institute of Minnesota

Hassan Hersi is currently employed as a PC ICM case manager at the International Institute of Minnesota, starting in April 2024. Previously, Hassan interned at the International Rescue Committee, contributing to the Preferred Communities team and conducting needs assessments for clients. From December 2018 to July 2022, Hassan worked with UNHCR as a translator and interpreter, also serving as a deputy coordinator for interpreters. Hassan's experience includes a role as a research assistant at Tufts University, focusing on refugee situations in Cairo, and as a community mentor for Save the Children International, where support was provided for child protection cases. Earlier experience includes serving as a screening and intake officer at St. Andrew's Refugee Services and assisting the office manager. Hassan holds a Master's degree in international development, community and environment from Clark University, completed in December 2023.
