Nikolay Kosov

Chairperson of the Management Board at International Investment Bank

Nikolay Kosov was born on June 30, 1955, in Moscow. In 1977 he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, majoring in International Relations. In 2000 he graduated from the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, majoring in Global Economy. He has a PhD in Economics.

Previously, 1977-1992 he was an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR (Attaché of the USSR Embassy in the Republic of Ireland, 1978-1983; Second Secretary-Counselor of the USSR Embassy in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland, 1985-1992).

From 1992-1993, he was Assistant to the Vice President of the Russian Federation in the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation.

In1993-1998, he was First Deputy, then CEO of Automobile All-Russia Alliance, member of the Board of Directors of AvtoVAZ. From 1998−2007 he was First Deputy of the Chairman of Vnesheconombank of the USSR. In 2007−201Nikolay was Member of the Board of the State Corporation 'Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)' - First Deputy Chairman of Vnesheconombank. During this period he also sat on the boards of directors of a number of leading Russian state-owned banks and companies. From 2010−2019 he was Member of the Board of Directors of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce.

Since September 2012 he is Chairperson of the Management Board of International Investment Bank. Mr. Kosov is a member of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.

For the contribution to the development of the financial and banking system of the Russian Federation, Mr. Kosov was awarded with the 4th degree Order «For Merit to the Fatherland», Order of Alexander Nevski, Order of Honor, Order of Friendship, and Medals of the Order «For Merit to the Fatherland» of the 1st and the 2nd degree. Mr. Kosov has been honored with the Acknowledgments of the President of the Russian Federation. Mr. Kosov was also awarded with the Order of the Polar Star (Mongolia) and the Order of Jose Marti (The Republic of Cuba).
