Michael Tamura

Chief Sport Commissioner at International Judo Federation

Mike Tamura has a diverse and extensive background in sports management and leadership within the judo community. Currently serving as the Chief Sport Commissioner and Sport Director for the International Judo Federation since January 2015, Mike also holds the position of General Treasurer with the Pan American Judo Confederation, a role commenced in April 2025. Additionally, Mike is the Managing Partner at Rebound Health and the Owner of Lethbridge Fitness Club and Booster Juice, both roles initiated in early 2025 and February 2019, respectively. Mike's long-standing commitment to the judo community is further highlighted by past positions as General Secretary and Executive Vice President of the Pan American Judo Confederation, and President of Judo Canada, from September 2012 until September 2024. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Lethbridge and a Bachelor in Community Rehabilitation from the University of Calgary.
