Peter Claffey

Peter Claffey currently serves as an External Collaborator for the International Labour Organization since July 2021, focusing on project implementation in Member States. Prior to this role, Peter Claffey spent over 37 years at the Health and Safety Authority, where responsibilities included managing five Inspection Area teams and overseeing the Special Investigations Unit, while also serving as the H&S Policy Lead for sectors such as Fishing, Docks, and Diving. Peter Claffey began his career as a Research Manager at EP Chemical, where duties involved research chemistry and health and safety management. Peter Claffey holds a PhD in Chemistry from University College Dublin, earned between 1975 and 1982.
