Joris van Alphen is a highly experienced cinematographer specializing in nature and conservation films. Currently serving as the Director of Photography for the feature film "Guardians of the Microcosm" at Lucky Film, Joris is dedicated to highlighting the hidden world of insects. With over a decade of experience at the International League of Conservation Photographers as a Fellow and Mentor for the Emerging League Program, Joris supports early-career photographers and promotes environmental conservation messaging. Previous roles include directing photography for major projects such as "The Americas" for BBC Studios, "Planet Earth III," and various documentaries for NHK and National Geographic. Joris holds a degree from the University of Groningen and has contributed to numerous significant wildlife and conservation media projects.
