Hira Akhunzada

Hira Aamir is a skilled psychologist with extensive experience in various roles within the mental health sector. Currently serving as a Grievance Officer at Professional Employers Private Limited since August 2021, Hira is responsible for addressing grievances related to the Emergency Polio Program funded by UNICEF and WHO. Previous roles include serving as a Referral Coordinator for the Bolo or Badlo project of UNFPA, where responsibilities encompassed providing psychosocial support to GBV survivors and managing records confidentially. Hira also worked as a Clinical Psychologist at KKT Pakistan, where assessments and treatment planning were central duties, and completed a hospital practice at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital focused on mental health counseling. Beginning a career in psychology with an internship at Khyber Teaching Hospital, Hira possesses a strong educational background, including a Master’s degree in Psychology from Islamia College Peshawar and coursework in Ethics in Psychology from the University of Peshawar.
