Alina Alcantara is an experienced security and strategic advisor with a robust background in both governmental and international organizations. Currently serving as the HQ Operations Security Officer and Regional Security Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean at the International Monetary Fund since July 2019, Alina previously worked as a Strategy, Planning, and Knowledge Team Consultant at IDB Invest and served in various analytical roles at SAT - Servicio de Administración Tributaria, including a focus on risk analysis and national security. Alina's consultancy experience includes assessing military education systems in Mexico at BHR Consultores and addressing governance needs in Eastern Afghanistan with Columbia University. Alina's educational qualifications include a Master in Public Administration from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, specializing in International Security Policy, as well as a Data Science specialization from General Assembly and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
