George Agbakoba

George Agbakoba currently serves as an Advisor and Senior Personnel Manager for the Asia Pacific and Western Hemisphere Departments at the International Monetary Fund, a position held since May 2019. In this role, George supports leadership teams and staff in enhancing macroeconomic growth and financial stability within these regions. Prior to this, George led global talent acquisition operations as a Talent Acquisition Manager at the IMF and served as Deputy Recruitment Manager at the same institution. George’s extensive experience in human resources includes roles as Human Resources Manager at Shell Venezuela S.A., Head of Employee Relations at The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd., and Legal Practitioner at Obianwu, Nwokedi, Nwadi & Co. George holds an MBA in Business and Organizational Development/HR from Edinburgh Business School, a Barrister-at-Law degree from the Nigerian Law School, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Benin.
