Simon Black is an experienced economist specializing in climate-related issues, currently serving as an Economist in Climate Mitigation at the International Monetary Fund since 2020. Prior to this role, Simon worked as a Climate Economist and Senior Consultant at the World Bank Group from 2017 to 2020, and held positions as a Climate Economist & Climate Negotiator and Diplomatic Service Economist at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office from 2013 to 2015. Simon began a career with Ernst & Young from 2010 to 2013 as an Executive in Financial Services. Academically, Simon holds a Master of Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University, a Master of Science in International Political Economy from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Politics & Public Policy from Goldsmiths, University of London.
