Phoebe Randel Donnelly

Senior Fellow And Head Of WPS at International Peace Institute (IPI)

Phoebe Randel Donnelly has an extensive work experience in various organizations. Phoebe is currently serving as a Senior Fellow and Head of WPS at the International Peace Institute (IPI) since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Fellow at IPI from August 2020 to January 2023.

In addition to their role at IPI, Phoebe also holds positions at other prestigious institutions. Phoebe is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia | SIPA starting from January 2023. Phoebe served as a Research Fellow in the Women and Public Policy Program (WAPPP) at Harvard Kennedy School from August 2020 to January 2023.

Phoebe has also contributed to the Feinstein International Center, where they were a Visiting Fellow from May 2016 to January 2023. Before that, they worked as a Stanley Kaplan Postdoctoral Fellow at Williams College from July 2018 to August 2020.

Phoebe's journey in academia began when they pursued a Ph.D. at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, specializing in Gender and Internal Conflict. During their time there from September 2014 to May 2019, they had various roles such as a PhD Candidate, Teaching Associate for "Internal Conflict & War" course, and Program Coordinator for the M.A. in Humanitarian Assistance Program.

Prior to their doctoral studies, Phoebe gained experience as an Associate Director at the Consortium on Gender, Security, and Human Rights from September 2013 to August 2014. Phoebe also worked as a Research Assistant at the Feinstein International Center from June 2013 to September 2013.

Furthermore, Phoebe's early career includes a research assistant role at the Social Science Research Council's Gender, Security, and HIV/AIDS Program in December 2012-January 2013 and an internship at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations within the U.S. Department of State from June 2012 to August 2012.

Phoebe Randel Donnelly earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Women's Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2004 to 2008. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Law and Diplomacy at The Fletcher School at Tufts University from 2011 to 2013. Phoebe'sfocus during this program was International Security Studies and International Organizations, with a specific emphasis on Gender Analysis.
