John Spacapan

John Spacapan is a Program Officer at the International Republican Institute since January 2022, previously serving as a National Security Fellow in the Office of Senator Mike Rounds. His experience includes the Wohlstetter Public Affairs Fellowship at the Nonproliferation Policy Education Center and research assistance in Foreign and Defense Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute. John Spacapan held roles as a Foreign Policy/Defense Legislative Aide for Senator Mark Kirk and an intern for both Senator Mark Kirk and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy Analysis from Vanderbilt University, along with coursework at The London School of Economics and Grinnell College.
