Scott Taylor currently serves as the President & CEO of the International Soap Box Derby, a position held since August 2023. Before this role, Scott was the Executive Director of The Portage Foundation, overseeing its $7.0 million budget from June 2022 to August 2023. Scott has extensive experience in non-profit leadership, having served as the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley and in various key positions at several YMCA organizations, where responsibilities included managing multi-million dollar budgets, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement. Scott's career began in 1996 with Big Brothers Big Sisters, where significant organizational restructuring led to financial stability. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Organizational Management & Leadership from Springfield College and a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education/Exercise Science from Kent State University.

About International Soap Box Derby The International Soap Box Derby's two youth initiatives are the FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby racing program and the STEM-based education program, which provides educational opportunities for K-12 youth worldwide through Soap Box Derby racing. The Derby dates back to 1934, when the first All-American race was held in Dayton, Ohio. The Derby's core values and drivers include: youth education and leadership development; family engagement and enrichment; honesty, integrity and perseverance; innovation and entrepreneurship; teamwork and collaboration; mentoring; volunteerism; and commitment to community.
