John E Hughes

John E Hughes currently serves as the Chair and Vice Chair of the Drug-Drug Interaction Special Interest Group at the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology, while also fulfilling the role of Secretary within the same group. At the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, John is a SPHeRE PhD Scholar and Research Assistant, focusing on Good Vigilance Practice in Pregnancy and analyzing healthcare data in Ireland. Additional experience includes positions as a Health Technology Assessor at the National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics and a Data Analyst at the National Office of Clinical Audit. Previous roles include working as a Locum Pharmacist, Dispensary/OTC Sales Assistant, and pharmacy internships in various settings. John holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Population Health and Health Sciences from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and has completed advanced studies in Pharmacoepidemiology and public health at prestigious institutions, including Harvard University.
