Lyesse Laloui

Lyesse Laloui is a prominent academic and consultant in civil, geotechnical, and geothermal engineering, currently serving as a member of THE ACADEMIA EUROPAEA and as Chair Professor and Director of the Laboratory for Soil Mechanics at EPFL. With a significant leadership role in the Civil Engineering Section at EPFL, Lyesse has successfully secured accreditation from multiple esteemed bodies. Lyesse is also the Vice-President for Europe of ISSMGE and a member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences. As a senior consultant at Laloui Consulting, involvement includes expert work on international projects and legal cases. Lyesse co-founded and leads innovative ventures such as MeduSoil Ltd, GEOEG, and Nesol, which focus on integrating cutting-edge technologies in construction. Additional roles include serving on the Board of Directors for Realstone Holding SA and holding the position of Honorary Editor in Chief at Elsevier.
