Joel Oliveira

Joel Oliveira holds the position of Head of Quality Assurance at Celfocus since July 2021, leading Pre-Sales activities within the Quality Assurance team. As Governance Chair for the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®) since January 2011, Joel ensures adherence to rules and processes, while also contributing to various working groups and serving as Vice-Chair of the Marketing Working Group. Joel is a founding member and the President of the Portuguese Software Testing and Qualifications Board (PSTQB), where involvement spans multiple leadership roles. An independent consultant since 2009, Joel is recognized for founding the first online testing community in Portugal. Previous experience includes senior managerial roles at Tillster, Inc. and CRITICAL Software, where responsibilities encompassed project and team management, process improvement, and product assurance. Joel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Systems Engineering from Politécnico de Coimbra.
