Thierry Geiger

Senior Economist & Head, Data And Analytics Division at International Telecommunication Union

Thierry Geiger serves as a Senior Economist and Head of the Data and Analytics Division at the International Telecommunication Union since April 2020. Prior to this, Thierry held various leadership roles at the World Economic Forum from October 2010 to March 2020, including Head of Research and Benchmarking, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing the research team, managing strategy and budget, and supervising the production of key benchmarking reports such as the Global Competitiveness Report. Thierry’s notable contributions include developing the Global Competitiveness Index 4.0 and co-authoring the Inclusive Development Index 2018. Previous experience includes consulting for MIX and serving as an economist at the World Trade Organization. Thierry holds an Executive Master in Global Leadership from the World Economic Forum, an MA in Economics from The University of British Columbia, and a BA in Economics from the University of Geneva.
