Matt Chanoff is a San Francisco-based angel investor and co-founder of the startup studio Flashpoint. He has served on the boards of early stage companies in logistics and cyber security, and currently sits on eight non-profit boards in the areas of poverty, media, and education.
Prior to his investment career, Mr. Chanoff was a management consultant in the electronics manufacturing industry, and served as chief economist for Technology Forecasters Inc. Previously, he directed the Asia program for the National Endowment for Democracy, and was a speechwriter for Senator Paul Simon of Illinois. He has a Master’s of Arts degree in International Economics and Politics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
Mr. Chanoff plays an important global governance role for Internews, sitting on both their US and UK board, and therefore supporting the collaboration between the two groups.
