Michael A. Hughes

Delegate, United States at Interpol

Michael A. Hughes is the current Delegate for the United States at Interpol. Prior to this position, they served as a Legislative Fellow at the United States Senate and as a United States Marshal.

As a Legislative Fellow, Michael worked in the office of a U.S. Senator as a legislative assistant/fellow. In this role, they were responsible for researching and writing legislation, as well as assisting with constituent services.

As a United States Marshal, Michael was responsible for leading the largest and most complex U.S. Marshals Service district. In this role, they oversaw administrative programs including human resources, finance, budget, procurement, property, information technology, as well as operational areas such physical and personnel security, risk management, investigations, executive protection, facility security, audit and compliance, emergency preparedness, continuity of operations, crisis management, active shooter response, insider threats, proactive training, and other safety and security areas.

Michael A. Hughes has a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from American University and a Certificate in Legislative Studies from Georgetown University. Michael also has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Montclair State University. Michael is certified from the International Security Management Association (ISMA) as a member.

They work with Šárka Havránková - VP, Czech Republic, Praveen Sinha - Delegate, United States, and Juan Carlos Hernández - Delegate, Argentina. Michael A. Hughes reports to Kim Jong-Yang, President.
