Rich Kaufman has had extensive work experience in the medical device industry. Rich started their career in 1998 at Guidant, where they held various managerial positions in both research and development (R&D) and manufacturing. At Guidant, they managed multiple teams and was responsible for the development and launching of several successful products.
In 2003, Kaufman joined Abbott Vascular's Bioabsorbable Vascular Solutions division as the Director of R&D. In this role, they built a team from the ground up and led the development of a new medical device technology never achieved before.
In 2006, Kaufman became the Vice President of R&D at Abbott Vascular - Bioabsorbable Vascular Solutions. Rich continued to develop innovative medical device technology, this time within an entrepreneurial start-up division. Rich established a facility, built a team, and led the development of the product and organization.
Since 2007, Kaufman has been working as the Chief Operating Officer & Senior Vice President of R&D at Intersect ENT. Rich is responsible for leading the development of a novel solution for the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis. Rich has built a high-performance team to design, manufacture, and launch the product while maintaining high morale.
Throughout their career, Kaufman has demonstrated strong leadership and expertise in developing and launching technologically innovative medical devices.
Rich Kaufman obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) from Arizona State University in 1989, majoring in the field of Bioengineering. The start year of their education is unknown.
