Dirk Schmalen

Dirk Schmalen currently serves as the Head of Group Controlling at Intersnack Group GmbH & Co. KG since November 2017, after previously holding the position of Senior Group Controller. Prior to this role, Dirk worked at Mars from April 2016 to October 2017 as the Supply Finance Head for The Netherlands and from 2008 to 2016 in various positions including Factory Finance Manager for Germany & Austria, Brand Manager for Twix & Mars, Category Controlling Analyst, and Marketing Controller. Dirk's early career included a brief tenure at Lufthansa Cargo as a Diplomate in Key Account Management and an internship in Strategic Purchasing at Bosch Power Tools, as well as an apprenticeship as a banker at WestLB. Dirk holds a degree in International Business and Management from Fontys Venlo University of Applied Sciences, obtained in 2008, and has also studied at Aarhus University.
