Richard began their career with the Department of the Army as a Military Police officer, where they investigated severe traffic collisions and provided training on traffic investigations. Richard then transitioned to the role of a Police Officer, where they developed enforcement plans and implemented programs to enhance police operations.

In 2013, Richard joined AMS.NET as a Systems Engineer Intern, assisting with the configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of Cisco switches and routers. Richard also interacted with customers and end-users. Richard then progressed to the role of Network Technician, where they were responsible for the preparation, configuration, and installation of networking equipment. Richard introduced new methodologies to reduce equipment preparation time and provided onsite troubleshooting assistance to customers.

Within AMS.NET, Richard held the position of Network Engineer, where they implemented complex enterprise networks and security solutions. Richard conducted network assessments and supported troubleshooting of VOIP concepts. In 2021, Richard joined NetCuras as a Senior NOC Engineer, acting as an escalation point for NOC Engineers and assisting Principal Engineers in completing projects. Richard also monitored team workload and helped create an efficient workload. Later, in 2022, Richard transitioned to the role of Senior Wireless Engineer at InterVision Systems. Here, they collaborate with pre-sales and customers to develop vendor agnostic solutions, engages with stakeholders to develop strategies, and provides expert consulting support to translate customer needs into technology use cases.
