Senior Electrical Design Engineer at IntraOp Medical

Steven Rubio has over 30 years of experience in the engineering field. Steven began their career in 1987 as an Associate Engineer at Seagate Technology, where they developed and designed automated disc handling, cleaning, and sputtering equipment used in hard disc media production. In 1991, they moved to ATS Automation Tooling Systems as a Systems Engineer. Steven then spent 1999 to 2012 at Philips Healthcare San Jose CA as a Senior Electrical Engineer, followed by a role as an Electrical Engineer at Nanometrics from 2012 to 2012. From 2012 to 2019, they worked as a Senior Robotics Electrical Engineer at Varian Medical Systems Particle Therapy, where they were the Motion Control System and Technical Lead for the ProBeam Proton Therapy treatment systems. Since 2019, they have been a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at IntraOp Medical Corporation, where they develop requirements, specifications, systems, and design to production LINAC based Intraoperative Radiation Therapy equipment.

Steven Rubio attended San Jose State University from 1982 to 1982, where they completed course work towards a BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Steven then attended San Jose City College from 1989 to 1991, where they earned an AS in Electronics Technology. Lastly, they attended Ohlone College from 1991 to 1995, where they studied Physics, Engineering and Programming.
