Sr. Scientist Vaccine Product Characterization at Intravacc

Thomas Michiels has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Thomas recently joined Intravacc as a Sr. Scientist Vaccine Product Characterization in September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Coriolis Pharma as a Senior Scientist from April 2022 to September 2022.

Before their industry roles, Thomas worked at Intravacc as a Scientist from November 2020 to April 2022 and as a PHD Student from November 2016 to September 2021. Thomas also gained teaching experience as a Reizend DNA Labs Onderwijs Assistent at Leiden Science - Universiteit Leiden from September 2016 to December 2016.

In addition, Thomas served as a Member of Institute Council and worked on a Research Project at Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research from March 2013 to August 2016. Thomas Michiels earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mass spectrometry-based degradomics analysis of toxoid vaccines from Leiden University. Thomas pursued this degree from the year 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Bio Pharmaceutical Sciences from Leiden University, completing the program from 2014 to 2016. Thomas'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Leiden University. Thomas completed their bachelor's degree program from 2011 to 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Thomas Michiels has obtained several certifications. Thomas holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, which they acquired from GoLeanSixSigma.com in November 2021. Thomas also obtained a PEAKS Studio mass spectrometry software for proteomics training certification from Bioinformatics Solutions Inc. in April 2019. Lastly, they have a Radiation Hygiene level 5 certification, although the institution and specific dates of obtaining this certification are not provided.
