Leonard Desmond has a strong background in electrical engineering and wireless technology. Leonard is currently working as an Embedded Wireless Engineer at Intricon Corporation since December 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Advance Wireless/RF Engineer at Honeywell from January 2021 to December 2022.

Leonard also served as the Lead Electrical Engineer/System Architect at Opal from April 2019 to January 2021. During their time at Opal, they were responsible for designing and developing hardware and firmware for low power battery operated LoRa RFID tags, as well as collaborating with contract developers on software and firmware development.

Before joining Opal, Leonard worked as an Electrical Engineer IV at Chemring Sensors and Electronic Systems, Inc. from January 2016 to April 2019. Leonard gained experience in hardware and firmware design during their tenure as the Hardware and Firmware Group Lead and Sr. Hardware Design Engineer at Omni-ID from September 2014 to January 2016, and from January 2012 to September 2014, respectively.

Leonard's earlier work experience includes positions such as RF Product Engineer at Bosch Security Systems from March 2004 to January 2012, Senior Design Engineer at Railcomm, Inc. from May 1999 to March 2004, and Hardware Design Engineer at ALSTOM Transport (General Railway Signal, Inc.) from May 1995 to May 1999.

Additionally, Leonard worked as a Contract Hardware Design Engineer at Detection Systems, Inc. for a brief period from February 1995 to May 1995, and as a Test Engineer at Harris R.F. Communications from October 1993 to February 1995.

Leonard Desmond began their education in 1987 at Monroe Community College, where they pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) for one year. Leonard then transferred to New River Community College in 1988 to study Electrical Engineering Technology, though the field of study during this time is not specified. In 1990, Leonard enrolled at Rochester Institute of Technology and completed a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (B.S) over a span of three years, graduating in 1993. During the same period, they also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEET) from Rochester Institute of Technology, specializing in the field of Electrical Engineering.
