Senior Software Engineer, Gazebo Tech Lead at Intrinsic

Addisu Taddese's work experience begins in 2006 where they worked as a Webmaster at The Crescent. In 2007, they also worked as a Web Designer at CollegeVita. From 2006 to 2007, they were a Layout Engineering Intern at Vectren Corporation, where they handled tasks such as professional AutoCad drawings and assisting engineers in designing electrical and gas distribution systems. In 2007, they also had a Design Engineering Intern role at Ciholas Inc. Addisu then became a Software Engineer at Ciholas Inc from 2008 to 2012.

Moving forward, Addisu joined Vanderbilt University in 2012 and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant until 2013. During this time, they also began working as a Graduate Research Assistant, a role they continued until 2018. In their position, they streamlined the development of medical capsule robots (MCRs), designed an open source modular hardware platform for MCRs, created a web-based design environment for MCRs, and implemented an API for C++ model interpreters in the Generic Modelling Environment (WebGME).

In 2018, Addisu joined Open Robotics as a Software Engineer and also took on the role of Gazebo Tech Lead in 2022. Addisu'sresponsibilities in this position are not specified. Addisu Taddese attended the University of Evansville from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Later, from 2012 to 2018, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.
