Joseph F. Merola, M.D. MMSc, serves as Chair and Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center since October 2023. Merola is the President of the Medical Dermatology Society and a member of the Executive Committee for the Group for Research & Assessment of Psoriasis. Additional roles include Medical Scientific Advisory Council member for the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., President of the Board of Directors for the Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Clinics Multicenter Advancement Network Consortium, and a Medical Board member for the National Psoriasis Foundation. Merola has extensive experience at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where roles included Vice Chair for Clinical Trials and Innovation and Director of the Center for Skin and Related Musculoskeletal Diseases. Education includes a Master of Science from Harvard Medical School and an MD from New York Medicine Jobs.
