Farid Tavakol

Farid Tavakkolmoghaddam is an accomplished Algorithms Software Engineer currently working at Intuitive since January 2024. Previously, Tavakkolmoghaddam held the position of Research Assistant at AiM Medical Robotics, contributing significantly to the development of kinematic models for an MR-compatible neurosurgery robot and establishing communication systems with surgical planning software. At the WPI AIM Lab, Tavakkolmoghaddam designed high-level C++ software for robotic systems and implemented sophisticated robotic models. Experience also includes a role at Johnson & Johnson MedTech, focusing on state machine design for the Monarch® endourology platform, and multiple internships at Boston Scientific, where solutions for urology and gastroenterology physician challenges were developed. Tavakkolmoghaddam's early academic career involved teaching and research assistant roles at Old Dominion University, alongside advanced educational qualifications, including a PhD in Robotics Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
