Russell Blanchard

Russell Blanchard is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in the field of product design and development. Currently serving as the Director of Product Design at Intuitive since September 2016, Russell leads a talented team in creating innovations for minimally invasive surgery. Prior to this role, Russell held the position of Senior Manager in Industrial Design at Intuitive Surgical, a leader in robotic-assisted surgery. Russell's career includes significant contributions as Design Director at Smart Design from 2011 to 2016, and earlier roles include Associate Director of Product Experiences at New York University and Senior Industrial Designer at Smart Design. Russell also has a robust background as Senior Product Designer at Philips Design. Educational qualifications include a BA in Product and Furniture Design from De Montfort University and a Foundation in Art and Design from Wimbledon School of Art.
