Martina Franke has worked in the auction industry since 1997. Martina began their career as European Business Development Coordinator at Sotheby's, where they were responsible for establishing negotiations between CEO, managing directors, and office heads in the German speaking countries. During their time at Sotheby's, Franke was successful in coordinating a Restitution Project, resulting in major sales sourced from Germany. In 2000, they moved to iCollector.com as European Business Development Manager, Europe, where they successfully implemented a new product for European clients. From 2002 to 2007, Franke was the European Editor at Judith Miller's Antiques Price Guide, where they were responsible for sourcing image material from Europe. In 2007, they joined Invaluable as European & RoW Account Director, where they are responsible for providing auction houses with e-commerce and marketing solutions, as well as auction management software.
Martina Franke obtained their MA in Art Museum Studies from the Courtauld Institute of Art, U. of London in 1996. Prior to that, they earned a Master's Degree in Art History, Spanish, and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Cologne between 1988 and 1994.
