Paul Burke

Paul Burke has extensive experience in optical engineering, design, and analysis. Paul is currently working as an Optical Engineering and Design Manager at Invariant Corporation, where they specialize in optical systems design, lens design, hardware development, and optomechanical design. Paul also provides support to various customers, including the Department of Defense (DoD), industry, commercial, and research and development (IRAD) customers.

Prior to their current role, Paul worked at Dynetics for over 17 years, where they held the position of Sr. Optical Engineer and Optical Systems Design Section Manager. Paul was responsible for managing the Optical Hardware Engineering Section and leading cross-functional teams for multiple UV, EO-IR, and laser programs. Paul worked with a wide range of customers, including the US Army, NASA, DIA-MSIC, Dow-DuPont, AFRL, NRL, and more. Paul also served as the company's Zemax Optic Studio modeling and analysis expert.

Before joining Dynetics, Paul worked at Advanced Optical Systems as an Optical Engineer for three years. Paul also gained experience as an Optical Engineer at Computer Sciences Corporation and Nichols Research Corporation.

Paul began their career at NASA as an Optical Engineering Research Associate, where they conducted research in the field of optical engineering for space applications.

Paul Burke earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Optics/Optical Sciences from the University of Rochester, where they studied from 1989 to 1993. Paul then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics with a focus on Optics and Photonics from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, completing their studies between 1993 and 1996.
