Kieran Ratcliffe has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Kieran started their career as a QA Analyst at Desire2Learn in 2014. Kieran then worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo Centre for Advanced Material Joining in 2015. In 2016, they held roles as a Research and Development Engineer at Jannatec Technologies and as a Controls Engineer at General Motors, where they were responsible for testing engine control unit controls and diagnostic algorithms.

In 2017, Kieran worked as a Systems Design Engineer at ATS Automation, where they applied a systematic design process and designed mechanical frames using SolidWorks FEA. In 2018, they worked as a Mechatronics Engineer at Clearpath Inc., where they selected sensors for autonomous mobile robot routines and assembled hardware on test robots.

Kieran'scareer in robotics continued at Tellext in 2021, where they held the role of Product Manager/ROS Autonomy Engineer. Kieran designed high-level software features for a robotic mobile surveillance system and collaborated with prospective customers to deliver the final product. Kieran also designed autonomous navigation and high-level behaviors for the robotics system.

Kieran then joined SewerVUE Technology in 2022 as a Robotics Software Developer. There, they integrated sensors onto pipe inspection robots, compiled data sources into ROS2, and implemented the ICP-SLAM point cloud mapping/registration algorithm.

Currently, Kieran is working at Inverted AI as an Artificial Intelligence Engineer - Customer Engineer. Kieran'sresponsibilities include developing customer-facing APIs for training autonomous vehicles, interfacing with clients, and managing products.

Kieran Ratcliffe has a strong educational background in engineering. Kieran completed a Bachelor's degree in Systems Design Engineering with a specialization in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Waterloo between 2013 and 2018. Following this, Kieran pursued a Master's degree in Engineering with a focus on Robotics in the field of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University from 2019 to 2021.
