Joris Blommaerts

Joris Blommaerts is an experienced human resources professional currently serving as the General Manager of Human Resources at Sumitomo Heavy Industries (Europe) since January 2024. Previously, Joris held the position of Chief Human Resources Officer for the EMEIA - PTC EMEIA Business HQ division at Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. since July 2018. Joris has also served on the boards of Lafert Group and Invertek Drives Ltd, and as Managing Director of Hansen Industrial Transmissions nv since April 2021. Prior roles include HR Manager positions at Sumitomo Drive Technologies and Hansen Industrial Transmissions, as well as Global HR Director at deSter and Regional HR Director Benelux at Tyco Fire & Security. Joris's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Management from Antwerp Management School and a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Antwerp. Additionally, Joris was a partner at Ubungane Farm & Trade, focusing on cattle breeding in South Africa from February 2011 to January 2020.
