Michelle Schonken

Michelle Schonken has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Michelle started their career as a Client Liaison Officer at Shoecorp (Cutherberts & ABC) within the Edcon Group in 1996. Michelle then became a Business Analyst / Lan Administrator at Edcon from 1996 to 1998. Michelle then worked as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, and Developer at Accenture - Edcon Group, where they were responsible for Business Information Delivery and reporting from 1998 to 2001. From 2001 to 2004, Michelle was a Senior BI Consultant at Iocore (NDT), primarily working with ABSA Business Bank and Bankfin Fleet Management. Michelle then joined Netmax as a Senior Business Intelligence Consultant / Architect from 2004 to 2006, where they analyzed and designed data models for various functional areas. Michelle then worked independently as a Senior BI Consultant for Golden Rule, contracted to ABSA, in 2006. From 2007 to 2012, they worked at Outsourcing Business Solutions (OBS) as a Senior BI Consultant/Architect, Trainer, Senior Front-End Specialist, and Senior Business Analyst. During this time, they were involved in multiple projects, including quality assurance and mentoring at ABSA and helping Multichoice transition to a Microsoft Solution. Michelle joined Karabina (IS Partners) in 2012 as a Principal Business Analyst, where they worked with various clients, including Tsogo Sun Gaming, Tsogo Sun, and Liquid Capital. In 2014, they joined Karabina Solutions as a Principal Lead before transitioning to their current role as Investec SA Specialist Bank & Wealth AI & Data Lead in January 2022. Prior to this, they also served as the Group Risk IT Head at Investec from 2016 to April 2022.

From 1984 to 1989, Michelle Schonken attended Windsor House Academy, where they obtained a Commercial Matric degree.
