Nakylah Carter

Nakylah Carter is a dedicated journalism professional with extensive experience in editorial and reporting roles. Currently serving as an Editorial Assistant at Investigative Reporters and Editors since November 2023, Nakylah contributes to articles and journals, fact-checks, edits copy, and has successfully relaunched the IRE Radio Podcast. Previous positions include Data Reporting Fellow at The Marshall Project, Higher Education & Health Beat Reporter at Columbia Missourian, and Race and Culture Unit Producer at ABC News. Nakylah also holds senior editorial positions at The A&T Register and has experience as a Social Media Marketing Intern and Business Reporting Intern. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communications from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
