Don Auerbach currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at the Investment Company Institute (ICI) since May 2004, leading the association that represents regulated funds globally, including mutual funds and ETFs. Auerbach has previously held roles such as Chief Government Affairs Officer and Co-Head of Government Affairs at ICI, where engagement with U.S. Congress and policymakers focused on financial services regulation, tax policy, retirement savings, and cybersecurity. Prior to ICI, Auerbach worked with the U.S. House of Representatives as a Professional Staff Member for the Committee on Financial Services, contributing to significant legislation such as Sarbanes-Oxley and the Financial Modernization Act. Additional experience includes consulting roles at Federal Financial Analytics, Inc. and demographic analysis for campaigns at the National Committee for an Effective Congress. Auerbach holds an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, a JD from American University Washington College of Law, a BA in History from UCLA, and a certificate in Leading in an Emerging Economy from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.
