Brent Barnes

Brent Barnes is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in investment management, particularly in private equity. Currently serving as Senior Associate Portfolio Manager at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario since March 2020, Brent has progressed through roles including Associate Portfolio Manager and Senior Analyst. Prior experience includes a role as Treasury & Capital Markets Analyst at Wajax, where Brent played a key role in an $18M acquisition and improved financial evaluation processes. At Manulife, Brent held several rotational investment analyst positions, contributing to significant investment analysis and deal closures in both private equity and real estate. Brent also demonstrated leadership as Portfolio Manager for the Sprott Student Investment Fund and served as a Teaching Assistant at Carleton University. Brent holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with high distinction in Accounting and Finance from Carleton University.
