Johnny Lu

Johnny Lu has extensive experience in the field of data engineering and business intelligence. Johnny is currently working as a Senior Data Engineer Lead at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO) since January 2021. Previously, they held the position of Senior Business Intelligence Consultant at OMERS from May 2020 to December 2020.

Before that, Johnny worked at various organizations, including Community Service IIT Cluster, where they served as a Senior BI Specialist - Solution Designer from December 2015 to the present. At this role, they developed various operational reports and analysis cubes using tools like Informatica ETL, Qlikview, Power BI, and Cognos. Johnny also has experience in advanced Qlikview load script development, report development, and performance tuning.

Johnny also worked as a Senior Business Intelligence Developer at Pethealth Inc. - a Fairfax Company from December 2014 to December 2015, and as a Senior BI Consultant at BMO Capital Markets from October 2012 to December 2014. Johnny represented IBM in the latter role and contributed to designing Cognos BI architecture, security models, and project frameworks for the BMO Corporate Commercial Lending suite BI solution.

In addition, Johnny has worked at TD Canada as a Senior ETL/BI developer from November 2011 to October 2012, at the Ontario Association of Community Care Access Center (OACCAC) as a Senior BI Specialist - Technical Lead from December 2007 to November 2011, and at Environmental Defence as a Senior Data Warehouse Developer - IT Manager from September 2004 to November 2007. Johnny also gained experience as a Senior Data Warehouse Developer at CIBC from July 2002 to August 2003 and as a Data Warehouse Developer at Nortel Networks from September 1998 to February 2002.

Throughout their career, Johnny has demonstrated expertise in data engineering, ETL process development, BI architecture, and report development. Johnny has led teams and managed projects to deliver solutions that meet business requirements and timelines.

Johnny Lu attended Ryerson University from 2003 to 2005, where they obtained a Master's degree in Electric Engineering.
