Oren Winer has a strong background in legal counsel and advisory roles. Oren served as the Director of Enterprise Legal at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO) starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the Ontario Securities Commission for over a decade. At the Commission, they held various positions, including Senior Legal Counsel in the General Counsel's Office and Legal Counsel in Market Regulation, Global & Domestic Affairs, and the General Counsel's Office. Oren also worked as a lawyer at ATD Legal Services PC (now Deloitte Canada) and as Counsel/Student-at-law at the Ministry of the Attorney General's Legal Services Branch for the Ministry of Finance (ON). Oren began their career as a Legal Analyst at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
Oren Winer has a Master of Laws degree from the University of Toronto. Oren also holds a Juris Doctor degree in Law from Queen's University. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Arts degree in Political Science/International Relations from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Political Science from McGill University. Additionally, they have a certification in the Canadian Securities Course from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI).
