Polina Sims

Polina Sims has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Polina is currently the Managing Director, Head of Investment Strategy, Sustainability, and Asset Management at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO) since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Funds and Asset Management, Infrastructure at IMCO, where they led a $14 billion global direct and fund Infrastructure investment program.

Polina has also held Non-Executive Board Member positions at Pulse Clean Energy, where they focused on investing in projects to support the transition to a zero-carbon energy system, and at Red Funnel Group, a prominent Isle of Wight ferry operator.

Earlier in their career, Polina worked at CPP Investments as the Managing Director, Portfolio Value Creation, where they worked closely with investee portfolio companies in various industries to help them achieve their full value potential. Polina also led the Fund-wide Governance effort to improve board practices.

Prior to their time at CPP Investments, Polina was a Partner at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where they specialized in financial institutions, strategy, and organization practices. Polina completed numerous projects across North America and globally.

Polina began their career as a Consultant and Finance expert at ProConsult before joining BCG. Polina also served as a Board Member at RGL Reservoir Management Inc. for a brief period.

With their diverse experience and expertise, Polina Sims has demonstrated a strong track record in investment strategy, asset management, sustainability, and portfolio value creation.

Polina Sims earned an MBA degree from Harvard Business School from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a BSE degree from The Wharton School, with a focus on Finance & Accounting. In June 2016, they also received a certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors, ICD.D.
