Sagar V.

Sagar V. has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Sagar currently holds the position of Board member and Chief Scientific Officer at Io Therapeutics since January 2019. In July 2020, they co-founded Augment Therapeutics and serves as the Senior Vice President. Prior to that, they were the President of Athena Life Sciences Inc., starting from November 2014.

Sagar has also worked as a Consultant at Edwards Life Sciences from June 2017 to June 2019. Sagar served as the Senior Vice President and Head of Life Sciences at Infolob Solutions, Inc. from March 2017 to February 2018. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Ethicon SAS in January 2017 and as a Consultant at Edwards Lifesciences from February 2015 to August 2016.

Before entering the corporate world, Sagar had a long tenure at Allergen Pharmaceuticals, where they specialized in Pharmaceuticals R&D and Manufacturing from July 1992 to November 2014. Sagar began their career as an Assistant Research Professor in Chemistry at the University of North Texas from September 1991 to August 1992.

Sagar V. has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the National Chemical Laboratory in Pune, India. After earning this degree, Sagar V. pursued further education at Stanford University, where they completed a Post Doctoral program in Medicinal Chemistry.
