Colin Cassidy, CISSP, has a strong work experience in the field of security consulting and software development. Colin began their career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Glasgow, mentoring students in practical tutorials. Colin then worked as a Research Assistant on a European-wide project, developing a research operating system and porting it to ARM.

Moving into the industry, Colin joined GE Digital Energy as a Software Engineer, where they developed new functionality for a leading OMS/DMS solution for electricity distribution management. Colin later became the Core Platform Technical Manager, managing and working with a team of developers, and then transitioned to the role of Security Technical Lead, resolving security issues and adding security features to the product.

In 2014, Colin joined IOActive, Inc. as a Senior Security Consultant. In this role, they performed security assessments and penetration tests of various software types for companies worldwide, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. With a focus on ICS/SCADA systems, Colin conducted security audits for one of the UK's largest Distribution Network Operators. Colin was later promoted to the position of Associate Principal Security Consultant, expanding their responsibilities in security assessments and source code reviews.

Throughout their career, Colin has demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of security principles and has successfully addressed security issues in various software systems.

Colin Cassidy, CISSP, completed their B.Sc in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow from 1993 to 1997. Prior to that, they attended Rothesay Academy from 1990 to 1993, although specific details about any degree or field of study are not available. In addition to their formal education, Colin obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in August 2019.
